Yesterday, we headed to Downtown Holland to experience a bit of Fall Fest, and it absolutely did not disappoint. From the giant pumpkin carving displays to simply strolling through the magical Centennial Park, it was the perfect fall afternoon in West Michigan.

We walked straight to the Centennial Park fountain, which looks stunning this time of year. The soft moss growing around the base gives it a sense of life and history—like it’s truly part of the park itself. It’s such a beautiful centerpiece.

My daughters were fascinated by the koi pond, and honestly, the hardest part was getting them to walk away! We also passed the Wizard of Oz storybook sculpture, which luckily is still standing before it’s moved into the greenhouse for winter storage.

As always, I stopped by the Veterans Memorial to pay my respects. I’m looking forward to the new memorial that’s planned as part of the park’s future transformation—an exciting update for our community.

One of my favorite discoveries of the day was spotting the tallest Dawn Redwood in Michigan, right here in Centennial Park! Learning about the history of this rare tree was fascinating—it’s a living link to another era.

For locals, this park is a perfect reminder of how beautiful our town truly is. And for guests, don’t miss Centennial Park when you visit Holland. We can even walk through it together on a guided tour!
